Hi guys , new to the forum and straight to it. my son has just bought a 54 fab 1.2 , lovely little thing but power steering does not work ! He knew this when he bought it , it had been in an accident to the front nearside (where the pump is ) the wing etc has been repaired nicely and the bodyshop has replaced the pump , rack , and sensor with second hand parts and still couldent get it going so sold it as was . I have a 1.4mpi 51 fab estate and tried my steering sensor in , but that did not work . There are no warning lights and steering is actually assisted for around 3 inch of travel just slightly to left of straight ahead pump can also be heard further round , but does not provide assistance. battery and alternator have been checked and are both good . not sure where to start as pump , rack etc are all expensive and not sure if something just not set up right . can anyone help please.
