Garage width for Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi lucky Yeti owners

I don't get mine until January/February 2011, but I'm preparing a space for it, so it will be sheltered from the weather.

Tape measures out:

Can anybody tell me what the maximum width is with the doors fully open, and how high the top edge of the tailgate is when open?

This is the worst case scenario - usually only the driver's door would have to open wide to let the rather large, stiff, geriatric driver out (me, not the wife).

I might have to put something above the tailgate position to stop it getting scratched by hitting the ceiling.

Thanks in anticipation.

Fred - A bit approximate this but with the tailgate up the height is around 2.2m.

With each door that is open it adds around 1.2m to the width of the car. If you take the width of the body to be around 1.5m then a single door fully open would need around 2.7m width and 3.9m for both doors fully open. That of course gives you no margin for error so you have to allow for that.

These measurements are not 100% precise but they will be fairly close.

Very helpful.
