Quieting the Octybus... what next?

Featured Replies

So, a couple of weeks ago I dynamatted the boot floor, wheel well and boot sides (taking out and replacing all the trim) and that improved things a bit

Today, I've had out all the seats, glovebox, centre console, carpets and underfelt and dynamatted the entire floor and under the rear seat area. It's better, but it's still not as civilised as my old Octy 1.

The car certainly seems quieter especially in the back/middle, (and as there's now 11 slabs of dynamat in the car - 44 sq ft - I'm certainly poorer) but now the road noise coming from the front end is more apparent. I'm not sure what if anything I can do at the front. The front wings are already stuffed with Skoda foam and it doesn't look like I can do much more there. I'm tempted by some Cloud 9 in the back but that might just make the front even more conspicuous

Any ideas, or is now the time to consider a louder stereo?

BTW, having had the centre console out, I so wish I'd got round to investing in the jumbo box as this was certainly the time to fit it!
