ESP light on - steering wheel sensor or alignment

Featured Replies

Hi

My ESP light came on a few days ago. I have just recieved an "ebay cable" with VCDS-lite and scanned the fault codes. It states the steering wheel sensor is faulty.

However running the coilover suspension set up as listed in my sig, I am wondering if this is just caused by alignment being out. The steering wheel is never straight when going straight but up until now I have just put this down to the setup itself, tracking the camber in the road.

Has anyone else running coilovers had this problem?

Failing that, could the sensor contacts have become contaminated with dust accumlation?

If the steering wheel isnt straight when driving along that needs to be sorted and the steering angle sensor reset.
