I find this strange!

Featured Replies

My mother has just taken delivery of her brand spanking Fabia 1.2 TSI DSG.

I went over to have a look at and noticed that Skoda have fitted exactly the same front braking system as my Octy VRS! Surely this is a bit OTT as I think the brakes on my car are amazing!

On a different note tho, and I know slightly not relevant here, what a cracking engine that is coupled together with the DSG!

i doubt the fabias got 312mm's on the front dont even think the mk2 fab vrs has got 312's

Prob the same caliper but with a smaller disc..?

I would expect the economies of scale at VAG when they fit the same caliper to x-million vehicles means a greater saving vs. fitting each car with a "specific" part.

I have to say the setup looked identical, and when you have a look the disc looks massive behind the front wheels on the Fabia.

The caliper is definately identical though, although not painted red :giggle:

The vRS comes with 288mm, not exactly the same caliper but both made by ATE.
