Metal upper intercooler pipe fitting question

Featured Replies

got my new pipe question is i want to get rid of the oem clips on the top part of the system i.e top of smic to the plastic pipe and the egr to the plastic pipe, anyone know what hoses to order someone must have replaced them, it looks like a 45degree pipe from the smic and a 90degree one for the egr to plastic top intercooler pipe, will i be able to jubilee clip a hose to the top of the smic or is there nothing to slot over? hope this makes sense :p

If you look at the SMIC and EGR fittings, you will notice they are shallow, and require machining to make non clipped pipes fit. More a problem on the BLT engine, as the ASV sits between the EGR and incoming pipework. ASZ engine the EGR and ASV are one unit.

The OEM pipes fit into and not over the SMIC and EGR, as such the SMIC and EGR are not designed to take anything other than clipped pipes.
