Ever since I replaced the drivers side heated mirror, the mirrors will not go back to the same position started (if BOTH moved together).

If I line both mirrors up the way I want them, then park so lowered both together (iirc using R setting), then bring them back up together, one will always need adjustment so that the come back the way they were.

Any tips?

Check that the new mirror glass is fully seated and, if it has the spring loaded strips, that they are correctly located. Had very similar when I did my passenger one. I hadn't fully located it, onto the moveable boss. Once it was pushed on fully & the spring clips were in place, all was back to normal. Gave me a bit of panic though!

What's the 'R' setting that you mentioned ? Is it a 'lower the mirrors when parking' option ? How do you set that ?

R & L on knob in front of door handle, you can use the L to move the left mirror and R moves both.

Easiest solution to this is to switch off synchronised mirror adjustment either in maxidot, or VCDS if no maxidot.

That way, mirror switch on R adjusts only RHS mirror, and on L, only the LHS mirror.

it's handy to have both moving, so leave in R so you don't have to go fiddling with sides when reversing.
