Wobbly Gear Lever - Felicia

Featured Replies

SWMBO has a 79 Felicia 1.3. Never had any probs for the past few years we've owned it. However, she comes in today saying the gear lever is all wobbly  and it wont go into 1st or reverse. Seems to be stuck in 3rd. I've had a look underneath (in the dark!) and can see what looks like a broken bar. Looks like the letter 'I' and approx 10mm in diameter. Any ideas in what it is (i think part of the gear linkage), where to get a replacement, cost, and if it can be fixed 'DIY'. Wifes a community nurse so needs the car for work ASAP. Your help and advice as usual is appreciated.

Looking at the parts diagram I would say it is a job for a Skoda dealer if you need the car back on the road asap.

thanks Denis. A search on this site mentioned Scospares (hope i'm not inadvertently advertising!). Gave them a ring and they seemed helpful. Told me the part I needed straight away. Its now in the post. Total cost for part

That's good news. :)

Ah the best year, my first Skoda was a dark navy blue Skoda Felicia GLi hatchback. In over all terms the best car I have owned. Sure the Octys are better to drive and look at, but this little pre-facelift Felicia was 100% more reliable and a darn sight cheaper to run.

Post facelift Felicia Estate was more practical but was less well built (just comapre underside of rear seat for example), with sticky dash buttone etc.
