275.3bhp - no NOS. :) Good base point - VIDEO ADDED

Featured Replies

Dyno result today. 275.3bhp with sod all low down, so should be a lot better once the turbo is sorted out properly, and I am running final mapping. No nitrous either so I am confident 300bhp is attainable.

And I won a little trophy for coming 3rd (out of 43 cars :D) in the best stock to power on the day. I think I should have won as the other two cars were basically race cars :D The RX7 has plaggy windows FFS. :D

Nice

Nice one Jase!!

RX8 down by nearly 15 bhp, something not right there.

Nice one, looks like a very good torque figure as well

Nice one Jason - cracking result!

Torque was 380lb/ft which sounds low, but was only low because it was peaking at 3500 revs not 2000 revs like "normal" TDIs do. As torque is a function of HP vs RPM, I think 380lb/ft at 3500revs is the equivalent of WELL over 400lb/ft at 2500 revs. With the turbo setup right, it should improve torque low down.

Not sure what was wrong with the RX8. Just didn't perform at all.

Torque is good! Mine is the same no low down mental torque (which just spins the wheels anyway)!!

My peak torque was 299lbft at 3500 peak power at 3850!!

I appear to have a ceiling of top power from 4,300 to 4,600 and I think it would have gone further had the dyno operator not bottled it. I did say I was happy for him to take it to 5,000. :)

Impressive results, just need a little more bottom end to make it driveable without ragging, amazing how you have most hybrid TDi power peak at, at 3,200rpm to what I would pressume would be 5,200rpm with more inbetween!

2260 turbo is this?

sweet mother of god thats some nice results :o for a derv how well does it cope with that sort of power i.e getting it down from a stop and general driveing ?

I know mine lights the tyres up if i put my foot down im geussing you have a ltd slip diff to help?

Thats the torque which peaks at arouns 3,400 to 3,600 before tailing off (the taller curve)

This is GTB2260VK turbo. :)

oooh bigger power, hope to see a 300+ figure once you get it sorted out

And I won a little trophy for coming 3rd (out of 43 cars :D) in the best stock to power on the day.

They should have done it by % increase from stock not actual figure increase. This is by far the most impressive and worthy of an award.

That would have read..........

R33 GTS - Std Power = 250...............Bhp Produced = 501.8..................% increase from stock power = 100.72%

RX7 - Std Power = 230..................Bhp Produced = 420.5..................% increase from stock power = 82.82

Skoda Fabia - Std Power = 100..................Bhp Produced = 275.3.................% increase from stock power = 175.3%

Well done Jase

Do you think I DIDN'T mention the percentage thing on the day.... about six times? ;):D

Looking at the shape on the power curve, I don't think it'd have gone higher on the day if they'd pulled to 5K rpm. Looks like it was just over the top of the curve when they curtailed the run. Excellent result though, any smoke? Or is there scope for more fuel? :)

What's missing at the bottom end? Is it still the VNT setup and then the tune?

Its not spooling up as early as it should - something to do with the actuator / stopscrew setup. :) WIll be sorted eventually then final mapping to follow. :)

I think the operator came off the power at 4700 and intertia took it 4800 and the dip in power before it stopped. :) It does just keep pulling to the limiter.

awesome jase simply awesome

I've been following the saga (!?) on tdiclub. Has it ever been setup to spool rather than for full power? Would be interesting to see how low it can spool and what effect that has on the top end.

Cheers,

J.

You wuz robbed Jason,

You should have won by a mile based on the percentage figure...

Awesome power! Nice...

So Jason, is this a pd100 block back in the pd100 chassis or still the same pd130 block in the pd100 chassis from before your Ring breakdown?

Cos I think your standard power should be 130hp in that case :p :giggle:

yup 130 asz engine i believe!

trying to pull as fast one ;)

That 30bhp is "modified" power, not just "stock" power. Stock was what it rolled out of the factory at Mlada Boleslav with. :)

Video now added post 1

Jase just an observation, but any reason for the intake temperature being 5 deg above ambient?

........... nice power curve though emoticon-0148-yes.gif

It'll never pass the MOT with that smoke! :giggle:

Well done Jason - good result
