Sports Suspension Factory Option

Featured Replies

I see that there is a cheapish (£95) "Sports Suspension" option for the new Fabias. I was thinking about specifying that with a new SE TSI 105.

Has anyone got one with this option? If so, what's it like and what do you get for the money?

I'm guessing that given the price, it's probably not a set of anti-roll bars. Maybe stiffer shocks or just a lowered ride height.

It would be nice to reduce a bit of body roll without loosening all my fillings. I tried to ask the sales lad, but he just denied that the option existed.

I have the sports suspension option. I have no regrets at all specifying it on my estate. The main benefits are reduced body roll and improved aesthetics. It sits a little lower so, in my opinion looks better. There is no significant deterioration in ride quality, the only time there is any harshness is on very badly deteriorated roads or cobbles. Arguably sitting a little lower it also offers improved aerodynamics and slightly improved consumption, as on the greenline. I'm not sure if it even gets different shocks although you would imagine so in addition to the shorter and slightly firmer springs.

I have ordered the Bilstein springs for my car, didn`t get the Skoda sport springs on my car.

did you get the dealer to fit them. how much was it for fitting them?

torque... who did a review of them earlier in the year

i believe its only -15mm lowering springs, for £95 I doubt they'll be like aftermarket suspension kits from kw, bilstein, koni, etc.

It's a full shocks and springs kit, basically the vRS suspension. Damping rates would have to be changed with stiffer springs or the car would bounce more than it does already when you press on too much.

No stealer didnt fit them, having them fitted by a company near me - but having to wait for them to arrive from Bilstein as there aren`t any in the country for my model yet!

let us know how you get on with the new suspension and how much it will cost because i would be interested in it as well , thanks

Its £246 for the kit and fitting, tracking etc, should be arriving this weekend hopefully (would be 3 weeks ago I ordered it and they said it should be 2-3 weeks).

Will be a -30 f -20 r drop.

that's really cheap price for a bilstein suspension kit and fitting. i was quoted £80-£150 for fitting some lowering springs alone. where did you get them from and who did you get to fit them? any details of the supplier/fitter please

I walked into my local "tuners" a company called R-Tec in St Albans, they said that this was the only kit they had listed for my car at the present (being a "new" engine for that model). Was looking at getting the KW coilovers instead but decided to save £400 and just get the lowering springs for now.

Think it actualy will put my car lower than the Skoda sport suspension iif its -15 all round?

based on reviews the -15mm 'sports' springs seem to be better than standard suspension although i've never driven a fabia lowered -15mm. It still looks quite high but would be a good choice if you wanna keep the oem look.

are you keeping the standard dampers? cos i've read on other forums that it will wear them out quick if you lower the car

yes I am, but will probably be changing to coilovers at some point in the near future!

fitted today and the car already feel a lot tighter and loads less bodyroll. Hasnt settle down fully yet but you can see its a bit lower!

So the sports suspension lowers the car by 15mm or just over half an inch. Is that noticeable?

It is, the 17" alloys on my car look a lot closer to my bodywork now and the car is visibly lower against the wall at the end of my car park.

My Skoda Fabia Estate has just been delviered by the lease hire company, but with the wrong wheels fitted which has made me question the other options I specified. How can I tell if it has sports suspension fitted. There is no code for it in the handbook (PSP), but then again, neither for the sunset glass (PH6), ESP plus (PFG), or spare wheel (PJA) which it also has. 15mm is pretty difficult to tell by looking at it, and I am yet to drive it. :D

There is a little sticker in the boot (or on the door i can`t remeber now) that lists everything about the car - had bodyshell code, engine code then a long list of codes, just need to know which one is the sports suspension option and see if it is listed.

Yeah the sticker is there, but none of the codes are!

PFG ESP Plus

PH6 "SUNSET"

PJA Spare wheel, car jack, wheel wrench

PSP Sports suspension

can anyone confirm the coloured dot codes on the sports springs?

P.S. I have the full lsit if anywants it!
