Teves 60 Location in a 2007(Dec) 1.9TDi Classic DSG

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anybody tell me where the Teves 60 is located in the engine bay of my 2007(Dec) 1.9TDi Classic DSG?

Do I have to remove the large plastic engine cover to reveal the Teves 60?

Note , it has a "ASR" on the centre console & "ABS" lights up when the ignition is turned on, this light turns off after a few seconds.

thanks in advance.

Does your car definitely have one? Unless it has ESP (which a Classic wouldn't have had as standard) it won't have a Teves 60.

Hmm, many thanks - I bought this car used last December, I am confused now as the car is fitted with a "ASR" switch (on page 215 of my manual it is called the ASR and described as : Traction Control switch!?) & with I switch the ignition on a "ABS" lights for a few seconds!

I am now sort of thinking the car might have been ordered with ESP, but am not sure!

Help!

thanks

ASR and ESP are completely different things. If you have an ASR switch you do not have ESP. ASR is an electronic device that cuts traction to the driven wheels when it detects a loss of traction. ESP (stability control) will independantly brake any wheel of the car when it detects a slide in order to bring the car back onto line.

If you have ASR, then you dont have a Teves 60. The ABS light will be caused by something else, possibly as simple as a wheel ABS sensor failing.

Many thanks for above, from above my car is not fitted with a Teves 50 unit (good!) and it is not fitted with DPF (good!) this just leaves me with the possiblity the air con problem which seems to be an VAG car issue.

I am very greatfull with both your help with above, many thanks.

It seem my basic car has some good points about it, but I do miss remote central door locking and rear electric windows, none the less I am now very happy with this car.

Just to clarify the ABS light comes on only after I switch the ignition switch on, and stays on only a few secs, this is correct by what is stated in the car manual.

But thanks anyway.
