1998 1.3 GLXi Felicia Central Locking

Featured Replies

hello all-

yet another strange problem- the central locking activates on all four doors occasionally when i try to open the drivers door.... in other words, when i pull up the door handle, all four doorlocks lock!! - this is highly amusing when standing there looking at the keys in the ignition. - luckily the tailgate was open so squashed my fat arse in through that -

is this a common problem before i start ripping off door-panels willy-nilly.....

thanks in advanced

maybe you knocked the pin down a little when getting out the car? have done that before and re-opening the door caused it to lock properly, cant remember if it locked all four doors..

How well does the driver's door lock motor work when you lock/unlock from the passenger side? The whole system can act a little funny if any of the motors/switches aren't quite in the position the car expects them to be (hence J242's post above - I'm sure that's happened to me before, too). I would suspect the driver's door motor/switch or the linkage between it and the lock - you can get at the front door electrics to test them very easily by popping off the A-pillar kick trim (lift up the front end of the sill trim to get at the screw)

If all else fails, I can think of at least 4 ways to disable parts of the central locking to avoid getting locked out again ;)
