FABIA II CUPRA 160PD INTAKE

Having recently purchased a 2007 fabia 3 1.9 tdi with the 105 bhp, and swore i wouldnt touch it. that i wanted refinement and mpg but like most resolutions that didnt last long ,a quick check under the bonnet of my mate vrs confirmed the intake pipes looked very similar to the previous model fabia/ibiza/polo part. having hunted everywhere to see if this mod was documented anywhere without success I took the plunge and purchased the famous cupra 160 pd intake pipe and cone 2nd hand 35 quid and apart from removing a small sliver from the landing panel cone fits straight on a perfect fit. some rather skillfull use of the stanley knife opened up the openings between slats 3 and 8 on the grille and the result was well worth the trouble turbo spools up quicker and response at higher also improved a look at the standard cone on the fabia II it appears even more restricted than i remember from the old model the replacement probably 3 times bigger, am currently running a van aaken tuning box worth 25-30 bhp and 5+ mpg spoke with paul at Angel tuning re remap who tells me engine is even more responsive than the last 1.9tdi I had done, but that will have to wait 40mm lower springs are next to improve the looks and handling it just looks wrong sitting so high.
