Nokia E63

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I went out and bought myself a Nokia E63 today to replace my SE Xperia X10. Got so fed up of not being able to text on it as the keyboard was so poo and the touchscreen being rubbish. After a couple of hours placing with it I'm really impressed. Cost me £90 on 3 (thats where my xperia x10 contract is) and it works perfectly. Makes calls, plays music and video, although not as well as my iPhone 4! Great little phone and highly recommended for anyone who texts a lot, wants to play music (even from itunes!)

The X10 is a pants phone.

Other android flavours (from others makes) blow it out of the water.

Damn. I've just had a Desire and a Galaxy S and thought both of those weren't perfect! My next choice was going to be the X10.

The x10 is still running v1.5!

What is it about those 2 you didnt like? They're the 2 best Android phones around.

Here's me thinking it was a full 1.6 lol.

The Desire just didn't seem to want to download anything when I asked it to and the sat nav on the Galaxy is a joke. Not quite as bad as the battery life though - 8 hours before needing to charge it is not what I'd expect of any phone.

On the plus side, the screen is fantastic and the phone is very speedy in operation. It seems that the sat nav problem is a known issue but not with every phone so I'll try a replacement Galaxy before looking at a Nexus One!

Wouldnt download what? Apps?

Yes it was apps that didn't want to download. It would say 'preparing to download' or something similar and maybe start downloading at some stage in the future. The battery would last at least 12 hours though so that was a plus point ;-)

Sadly the market depends on how busy it is, and can lag as you describe in busy periods. SWMBO's samsung lags worse than my Desire does despite both using our wifi. Most downloads are instant though when using wifi. Mobile network can have a huge lag, even with good signal IME (I'm on tmobile)

Google are currently working on overhauling the market as we speak...
