My new Superb Estate 4x4 in Black Pearl arrives soon.

Can anyone give me a few tips on waxing straight out of the showroom.

What are the best waxes for black.

Also protecting the alloys from new. Thanks, Phil emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I'd wash it, clay it, then polish with something like AG SRP and then finish off with a wax to seal like AG HD Wax or Dodo Purple Haze gives a very good finish on black. Jetseal 109 is well recommended for wheels and paintwork. I use Poorboys Wheel Sealant on my wheels and it gives a lovely shine. HTH

Don't let the dealer prep it. Get your own detailer in to do it instead. Dealers aren't that bothered so if you want the best long- term finish, tell the dealer you're having a professional come in to prep the car. Well worth doing.

Congratulations on your new purchase and I have been in contact with a few people with new Superb's on order but they seem to be delayed time and time again.................

I would suggest that you might want to do some research on what process would be best suited, a lot of Pro-Detailer's will offer a 'New Car Detail', which includes a safe wash, claying, stage one machine polish and then protecting.

If you wanted to do this yourself then I would suggest claying is a must but you must be careful not to marr the paintwork in the process, then ideally you want to machine it with a final finish polish but this all depends on the state of the paintwork having been delivered from the dealer? Chances are they may wash it and inflict some damage but this may not be the case.

Sealant wise, it depends if your looking for a durbale product or a show product? I am guessing protection so something like Collinite 476s or FK1000p would do the job on both paintwork and wheels. If you are feeling flush then the Zaino items would be my choice or even Black Fire, which works wonders on black and performs well in terms of durablity............

The two came as a kit with microfiber applicators and finishing cloths.

I've just tried them out on my TT and it looks great. Phil emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Yep, jump in there before the dealer gets to it :)

If you're doing it yourself, I don't see any reason why you could go down to the dealership as soon as it arrives and get cracking witht he products
