This isnt a skoda question but im hoping one of you will know the answer.

We brought my girlfriend a new car back in June (using toyota finance) we used the finance as they offered us a better deal and the apr was next to nothing. Were now in a position to pay the balance in full. Has anyone cleared the balance in a lump sum before ? Can i pay using a credit card (i want to bag the clubcard points) or are most of them bank transfer only?

HI mate,

i have cleared a few cars in the past,

Debit card the will give you a settlement figure, (maybe an early settlement charge shouldn't be much maybe an admin fee too )

Credit card it will be the above plus 3 to 5 % i think ?

How much did VAG charge for that privilege in terms of percent? My colleague was charged £1,100 just for using the credit card. That was on top of an early settlement charge.

No interest charged on this with as it was a debit card. I had a bit of interest refunded for settling early as well!

cheers guys i'll give them a call tomorrow morning. Its quite a few points on the car so even if its a small admin fee id be happy to pay on the visa.

Ah, didn't spot the debit bit! Well worth it then.

1% charge to pay via mastercard so it'll work out just fine. Thanks again guys !
