Bolero and wheel cleener.

Featured Replies

Hello again lads, picked up my car great, really like it. A couple of questions.

On the Bolero it shows bluetooth, is this ready to use with a bluetooth phone or do you require extras.

Any one recommend a good wheel polish. My wheels after a few days are covered in brake dust all ready.

Extra if it wasn't added at the factory. Chemical Guy Wheel Guard is one of the best on the market to clean and protect your wheels.

Wonder Wheels is an acid for cleaning wheels, I use it on mine occasionally before I pop the car through the car wash & they come out lovely!!

As for BT, try a mobile phone with BT on it make it discoverable and then turn on the ignition, if it's fitted then the phone should say either Skoda or VW and you can then pair it using the code 1234 or 0000.

Yes it is very effective (and harsh) and I have used it in the past when I first buy a car - but only applied to a wet wheel for maximum of around a minute.

Would you use an acid to clean your cars bodywork?

Done 19k miles in mine now since feb - never needed anything other than soapy water to clean the wheels.

Some cars I've had previously you couldn't shift the brake dirt without a product / wonder wheels etc but the skoda isn't like that - the dust comes off very easily with just water with a little zipwax car wash fluid and a sponge.

Thanks for the replys Lads. I was looking more for a sort of wax that i can put on my wheels to kep them cleaner for longer so i dont have to be washing them every few days.

Cheers

i just wash mine with car wash and wax after washing the car, which isnt very often i must confess, the brake dust does come off really easy, but like you said after a few days its back.

You'll find that if you apply a wheel sealant, or standard car wax to them, they don't tend to get as dirty as quickly, as the dirt/dust finds it more difficult to stick in the first place

Cheers,

Steve

Take the wheels of and put Auto -glm wheel sealant on, after washing and drying, then some colinite 476 s wax, do not use any acid or wheel cleaner on them or go through an automated car wash!

Couldn't have said it better myself :D
