Winter mode

Featured Replies

Looking out the door and seeing it absolutely hammering down [since 8:30 non stop!] makes me think its time to swap the rims and lift up the coilovers in readiness for what will no doubt be another bad winter!! rant over...

So when does anybody else go into 'winter mode' [if you do] emoticon-0136-giggle.gif .....

Cheers Mark emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Yea i want to clean, polish and protect the car for winter but being Britain it wont stop raining so i cant get started grrrr grrrr

I'm waiting to for temps to drop before i put my winter tyres on. Its not cold enough here now...been mainly 15 degrees. when it hits 5 consistently then i will.

I'm in winter mode, white wheels off, bbs splits taken apart and no intention of cleaning untill a nice day.

Anyone who went to the Briskoda meet last weekend will confirm how dirty it is.

Black wheels means i never have to clean them :giggle:

For me I rely on the first heavy frost as the signal

to get me reducing tyre pressures, increasing strength of screenwash,

Checking antifreeze mixture. emergency supplies blanket, warm coat salt

and shovel in boot etc

I don't have winter wheels but we tend to favour the SDI when the

weathers bad anyway. I only use my car if I have to.

The rest of the time it's in the back garden.

At least until I can afford some decent tyres.

With crappy Prestivo "sport" ditchfinders on the front and GSD3s on the rear

the ESP is working overtime in icy conditions :D

Had a few scary moments :o

Never really done much for winter other than keep the car topped up with Wax and keep checking pressures/fluids e.t.c.

However, the car is garage kept and can't remember the last time it got wet! Garry, it is still gleaming from our clean!

we had a good frost a couple of weekends back and there was snowfall on the mountains further North but the winter tyres are staying off until the end of this month

Wash and a good polish is enough for me. I do put me thermals on as well.
