I am interested in how much a 24 month service costs on the UK mainland compaired to little old Jersey, just had mine done @ £325 odd, no VAT here.

The car has done nearly 31k miles.

BTW, only done 6 miles, since I collected it, and the oil is black allready when I checked it, is this normal after 6 miles?

Cant give you a price for the service but a TDIs oil is instantly black after a change and is nothing to worry about

I take it you are on variable service as you quoted two year service. I had mine done last October (2009) on 1.9 TDI Elegance manual and the service was 190.20 including 24.81 VAT save you the maths 165.39 without. This included a new rear wiper blade which was extra. Even allowing for inflation yours appears a bit steep.

filter 5.20

sump plug 1.14

4 litres syhthetic oil 34.20

wiper blade 8.80

all plus VAT at 15%

Labour 116.00

They also cleaned the car and gave me a couple of OEM windscreen wash bottles
