Yeah i ordered two weeks ago to qualify for vat free, was told originally it would be end of oct as it was a car a dealer had ordered but someone else gazzumped me on that one.

I will eat my wig if its here before Christmas

I ordered a white vrs estate diesel with DSG and Xenons I ordered it in august and they said..............................................

White ones take longer as police/ambulance ect get the white ones as well..... so maybe get mine sometime next year

this is a new one on me

mine is petrol - which i am led to believe will be quicker delivery than diesel

but i specced a sunroof - which will delay it

but it is white - which you are now telling me is even slower

they have ESTIMATED late dec / early jan when i ordered on 14th sept

reading posts on here i dont think i have a chance of seeing it before feb

I just picked up a VRS FSI hatch in magic black having wanted a race blue with Xeons, but I was warned it would be Feb 2011 before I would see it. I picked up my new car from at my local Skoda dealership within 14 days of the trade-in estimate down purely to luck, as I got the sales manager pre-ordered VRS FSI, but it was in black. I wanted the no VAT and 0% offer and the trade-in value of my 2008 VRS est TDI in September 2010, not Feb 2011, as the value have decreased by £800 by next Feb. I have just fitted H1 & H7 Phillips Extreme vision bulbs in my new car to make up for not being able to get the race blue with xeons.

I would not wait 5 months for a car in the knowledge that my old car needed a service in Nov, by Feb I would have needed 2 rear tyres and the real risk of some numpty running in to me during the winter. I really sympathise with the disappointment and the long wait. The sales manager said it was purely down to Skoda Uk who had underestimated the demand for Octavias in the UK and as a result the UK production run had been met for 2010 and there was no reserve supply anywhere in europe for right hand drive cars. Hence all new orders are being built straight from the production line as per order.

All the best trying to get your deposit back - sneaky b**gers

if you order an Octavia now VAT free, does it not have to be DELIVERED before the end of the year to qualify for the VAT free price?

I'm interested in ordering one now - perhaps for next march when my car is 4 years old at the VAT free price.

Seems like I missed the rush - ordered my TFSI vRS just over 8 weeks ago, and the dealer tells me it's due with them any time now - after an original estimate of 12 weeks wait, possibly 16. Mind you, they did tell me the sunroofs are holding them up (which I didn't spec) and, I'm guessing being one of these weirdy types who orders a petrol (what are you ON, man!?) might have helped.

Your all lucky at least most of you have got a production date. No news on mine yet and ordered three weeks ago

Don't worry - it was all a bit last minute with me. I'd not really bothered chasing the dealer, as I figured the last thing they need is some impatient customer asking "Where's my car" every 2 weeks.

So after 8 weeks from ordering, I popped them an email just asking casually how things were going. The response was "Oh, it's built, it'll be with us within the next 2 weeks I should think - I'll give you a shout when it's here!". I was like, ****, that's a bit quick, I haven't even sold my old car yet!

Now I hear the factory/production line closed down for the most part of one month, not sure but I think it was September or August, but even then it sounds pretty impressive... maybe I just picked the right combination of spec to get it through quick... petrol, manual, estate, white, no sunroof... dunno?

But hey, I shouldn't count my chickens - it's not here yet.... I've probably just jinxed it all :D

when i ordered mine skoda said they will only honur the 15% vat so if it comes after xmas WHICH IT WILL

I will have to pay the other 2.5 %

but i will wait ,would rather wait for the car and spec i want

Lucky so and so tried to convince the wife of skodas zero vat offer.

All this talk of new cars christmas has come early to the lucky few boo hoo.

"Beat the VAT Increase Offer Extended. Due to the high level of demand for new Skoda cars, we have now extended our VAT offer, for customers who factory order any new Skoda before 31st December 2010, you won’t have to pay the 2 1/2 % VAT increase when your new car arrives after January 1st 2011".This is off a local dealers website.
