A question for the vRS owners: Does the vRS gearknob have an aluminium (unlikely) or coloured plastic insert on the top or is it just painted/coloured dirctly on the knob and is the footrest stainless steel like the pedal covers?

As no-one has replied, I am only guessing but i think the footrest is just plain as there seems to be an aftermarket sourse of these on ebay... with varying logo's to suit different Skoda's, VW's, Audi's etc. Cannot comment at all on gearknob but I am guessing if they don't supply one fitted, they can SELL you one!

The gear lever has a metal insert - or it seems very metallic

Thanks for that, I will look at if it's possible to order one so the gearknob looks like a tenners worth instead of ten bobs worth
