Stream MP3 Menu signal strength HELP please

Featured Replies

Hi All

First post here as a newby so be gentle. Been searching around the threads for this but cannot find the details: I have the common problem or poor signal on AM and FM. Looking at the signal strength info after holding down Menu for 10 seconds I get the following:

What do all the bits mean?

Does ANT OFF mean that the booster is not working/fitted?

Thanks all

Yes, faulty amp.

Yes, faulty amp.

I have a similar problem ... what needs to be done to fix this?

Cheers, thought as much. Headlining down tonight then. Is it a big job?

Well, thats weird. Took down the headlining and the aerial base is a nomal one. No booster, no extra wire for power and no sign of any change from new.

Next, took out the radio unit - standard co-ax out to aerial - again, no power wire. Anyone else had this? (56 plate Octavia 2.0 FSI).

If I but a booster from online/halfords - will it help?

Just got my octy vrs back from the dealership today after my reception being poor and reading about the ant test. basicaly they said we managed to tune every station in the area with no problem but the ant still says off. dont get me wrong the reception is far better but id rather have it all working than a half arsed attempted at fixing it. any help will be most welcome.

Cheers

David

I believe that the antenna takes power from the radio (via the co-ax), so you wouldn't have a power connector at the antenna or at the radio.

The aerial adaptor sold at Halfords is to use with a non-factory fit radio, i.e. a radio that doesn't have a powered aerial connector.

Hope this helps. :)
