I have read various topics about the available menus on the Maxidot, and looking on my Nov 09 model, in the LIGHTS AND VISION menu I only have "Comf. Indica" where as other people seem to have a load of other options.

You are not doing anything wrong. Presumably you don't have the Coming Home/Leaving Home lighting set up or Auto lights as this would be part of the Lights and Vision menu. If you have physically got the DRL bulbs in place next to your front fog lamps, your Dealer should be able to update the software on your car to give you a DRL select/deselect on Maxidot.

Thee are a few options that need to be activated with VCDS before you get the options shown in maxidot. Just for example, you mention comfort indicators. So you have the choice of switching them on and off through maxidot. But if they are switched off with VCDS, you will lose the option completely in maxidot.
