Bluetooth pairing sound very loud

Featured Replies

First the good news: my new Scout's built-in Bluetooth pairs perfectly to mine and my wife's cell phones. Now the slightly less good news: the successful pairing or de-pairing jingle that you hear every time you get in or out of the car is way too loud for my tastes. Is it possible to reduce the pairing volume? Trivial stuff, I know, but the car is so tasteful and discrete in just about every other area, I'm surprised at the raucous bong emitted whenever I get in or out of the car with my cell phone in my pocket.

Oh, and on the subject of Bluetooth, it pairs perfectly to my iPod Touch (albeit with the same annoying loud BONG) and streams music wirelessly to the Bolero - how cool is that? And the Bolero is fast at accessing music in many folders on a pretty full 32GB SDHC card, so it looks like they've cured that problem.

On my old mk1 vrs which had a hands free kit fitted i had the same problem & mine was relavent to the volume control, i.e when driving on motorway i was turning the volume up when talking to someone then when switching off the beep was very loud,i turned volume down next time i used phone & the beep was much quieter.

I figured this out in the end. The Bluetooth pairing volume level can be adjusted by going into the phone setup menu and choosing your preferred ring tone, then while trying the different ring tones, an option appears on the Bolero to raise or lower the phone volume. Changing this level also changes the pairing volume.
