replace front wheel bearing

Featured Replies

I think the bearing on the front left is gone .

A few Question's

Their are two type's which one ?

Have given the motor factor my Vin and reg still cant tell which one it is. Not a problem he has ordered both (but for his sake is their a way of telling which one )

The motor factor will have both Monday ,but i need to take mine of first to compare.

Is their any thing i should look out for when removing the hub ?

My man thinks the bearing is separate to the hub ( ie take hub of and replace bearing ) but my car is a 2007 Octavia and i think they come as one unit ?

He thinks i will have to heat and push the hub out and then press it back in i know this is the procedure for older car's but at the price i have been quoted for the bearing i hope it's a complete unit hub with bearing with out that messing around?

Any way and help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks taxi-aid.

Possibly get more replies if in the octavia section .

Possibly a move .....MODS ??

Use a press trust me mate, a mechanic removed mine with a hammer and heat he broke my abs sensor and damaged my abs rings which resulted in poor abs and abs disabled above 60 mph speeds.

Not worth risking it.

knightmare of a job even with a 10 ton press i managed to snap/break my hub and im a pro lol
