Removing rear seats

Featured Replies

HI guys.

Anything i need to know when removing the rear seats. Is it a straight unbolt and whip out?

Thanks

Jon

Lift up bottom segment (the bit your bum goes on), fold forwards, there are two metal bars, push them in so they unhook from the car. Pull the lever to fold the seat down, you will notice a hinge at the bottom, take a nice big flat head screwdriver and push the catch back to enable you to lift it out from there, then pull it away to the side of the car (towards you) off the cylindrical holding thingymabob.

Ooooooh technical speak!

I'm sure i've got one of these included on the recent flux capacitor i bought for my Fabia. :giggle:

Iv managed to get it down to using the key to flick the catch lol. Also, the first time you take them out they'll be pretty stiff, needs a good tug.

The small one just unclips as noted earlier so for some loads you can stop there.

It's only the big one that needs the socket - but be careful when moving either seatback laterally to pull it clear of the central spigot - it's all too easy to scratch the side trim plastic.

Makes quite a difference to the carrying capacity:
