Double DIN fitted in my Mk1 vRS

Featured Replies

Finally got the chance to fit my double din head unit in my 03 Octavia vRS.

Was a tight fit but no modifications or adaptors were required to fit it so I'm happy about that.

Heres a couple of pics...

I'm really liking it tbh, I'm able to hide my ipod away in the glovebox as I've got full use from the head unit, it plays everything, DVD, CD, iPod, SD card and has USB's, you can also make you own back grounds etc, still loads I haven't looked at yet, but I'm happy with what I chose :)

how much work did fitting this involve? you still using oem speakers? looks great by the way

None tbh, I took out the standard head unit and tray, the double din cage for the head unit was a very tight fit as I had to use a rubber mallet to gently get the cage in but once in everything was fine just plug in and play took 10 mins tops :)

I'm still running the standard speakers for now but they will be going as they are poo lol.

Dan,

What unit is this and where did you buy from? And, if it's not a rude question, how much did you pay?

Cheers,

Martin
