The Skoda racks look to be rebranded Thule equipment. I have had a pair of Thule roof mounted bike racks since 1998 which have had relatively frequent use over the years and are still going strong. The current equivalent are the Thule FreeRide @ £36 each (http://www.roofracks.co.uk/cycles_roofmounted/530.php); Skoda price £55 (http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?p_no=LBT009003A). I'm sure I paid £50+ in 1998.

Now our boy's bikes are getting bigger and are being used more frequently I will be looking to get a tow-bar and tow-bar mounted bike rack so I can carry 3 to 5 bikes relatively easily while keeping the boot free. Different league price-wise though :( .

Best regards

David
