Damaged wheel deep cleaning

Featured Replies

I'm a lazy slag when it comes to wheels... it's not that I don't put the effort in when I do them, just that I don't do them as often as I should.. But I always smother them with protector when they do get done.. all over including the inside and behind the spokes, off the car kinda job.

all 4 of my wheels have minor damage.. They all have that type of kerbing that looks slight and is right on the edge but through the paint, and they're also all starting to go around the back of the spokes.. (surprise surprise).

Last time I cleaned them I specifically used the softer wonder wheels formula for polish or damaged wheels.. it worked ok but didn't get all the brake dust off from around the back n sides of the spokes..

I'm just wondering what people suggest.. I flat out don't have the cash to get them re-furbed as there's other things higher up the priority list and tbh if I could just get them clean they'd look great. If I touched them up.. could I confidently use a stronger cleaner.. and could I even easily touch up the general crustiness forming behind one or two of the spokes?

Thanks guys,

Rob.

Anyone any idea? Is a touched up wheel safe to use with the strong cleaners? Or will they just get under it?

My old Bora has got a couple of kerb marks and some bubbling on the back of the spokes. They get hit with a 4:1 Megs Wheel brightener solution every week and look fine!! Just don't leave it on for too long (30sec- 1min is fine)
