I want to shorten the shift throw on my VRS by installing the Audi TT/S3 shifter part number 8N0-711-051-B.

Needless to say the price Audi are quoting is Australia is close to three times what the same part seems to sell for in the UK.

Can somebody please point me at a good UK source who will ship to Australia. I will need a web site to buy from rather than a phone number.

At current exchange rates close to 70 pounds whereas I believe they are around 25 pounds in the UK.

This part has been superseded by 8J0 711 046 B and I paid £25.20 for one from an Audi dealer last week. It weighs just under 1kg so airmail postage to Australia would be £12.37.

Have you considered ringing a UK Audi dealer and seeing if they would send you one?

the 8N0 711 051 B is still a good number from skoda, theres 2 showing available at the uk depot

isnt the 8N0 for a mk1 octavia with it being off a mk1 TT? then i presume the 8J0 would be for the mk2 octavia with it being off the mk2 TT?

I'm not sure, I only know that it's not the right one for the 1.8TSI as that's got an MQ250 gearbox. The 8J0 part fits the MQ350 gearbox. It has the plastic cable end attached which may be the difference.

You haven't got the part number for a short shift for an MQ250 gearbox as fitted to my 2010 1.8TSI have you?

The part number I listed was talked about in another thread and is certainly still a current part according to Australian Audi dealers.

Yes I could ring a UK Audi dealer but I though somebody might be able to refer me to one who is known to be helpful. Blindly ringing phone numbers from Google isn't always a good option.
