Possibly going to South Germany for a week....

Hi guys, wondered if there were any Broskodians here that had any knowledge of Southern Germany at all? Places worth a visit, good places to eat, roads to drive - that sort of thing? We'll be going to visit SWMBO's penfriend of many many years as she has just settled back in the Black Forest where she grew up complete with new husband and child. We'll be staying at their home so hotel information isnt required and we plan to be there for seven days, allowing around 9 hours driving from Calais each way.

Ive never been to Germany previously (at least not for more than a day!) and this place seems to be slightly remote and Im having trouble finding much about the area through online searches. :S

Even the all knowledgeable Wikipedia offers this fascinating insight into the place:

"Hohentengen is a town in the district of Waldshut in Baden-Württemberg in Germany."

Any knowledge on the area, no matter how general would be greatly appreciated, Im just hoping that the Black Forest Gateau is up to scratch.
