Squeeky brakes

Featured Replies

Fitted new front discs and pads two weeks ago at 38,000 miles, the front offside pads were very tight and ,I thought binding ,which made them squeek. I filed a little from the location lugs and applied copper grease so that they moved freely. Now they squeek horrendously if any right turn is put on the steering. The question is, is it the brakes or perhaps the wheel bearings having just a little bit too much play?

Are you sure that any wires/pipes are routed correctly as it may be if one of them wasn't then that would cause the pads to be dragged onto the disc as you are turning the steering.

There is nothing touching that shouldn't.The squeeking starts with only the lightest of right turn on and can be heard 50 yards away, it is interminent as it gets worse once warmed up and is cyclicle with the rotation of the wheels

Mines does this at times it's just odd it's not constant and seems to do it when the wheel is turned and reversing

Another clean up of the pads and carrier required but don't coppergrease them this time, also leave out the shims if fitted.
