Fabia vrs purchase

Featured Replies

Hello. I'm looking at getting a Fabia vrs and deciding between two cars.

First one is:

May 06

18000 miles

Leather pack vrs seats

Black magic

12 months warranty skoda

6 months tax and tank of fuel

£7700 but 5hours drive from me!!

Or

Silver fabia vrs

July 06

38000 miles

Cruise control

12 months warranty

£7150 and in same town as me :)

Hmmm which one. It seems like a no brained but which one will retain value more? Is it worth paying the extra for seats and mileage?

Cambelt will be done on both

Leather pack and have a haggle? I'd be surprised if you went in with £7200 cash and they said no? Of the VRSs I've seen themost common issue is the seats.

go for the black one

18000 miles in over 4 years is pretty good

less than 5k per year

Black one for me fella, even though I love the silver ones, having one myself, the black one IMHO would be the one to go for.

5 hours drive would be worth it for the leather alone but with the lower mileage aswell plus you could always get cruise fitted afterwards as it's not that expensive (approx £150 IIRC)

On both cars check that the 4 year cam belt change has been done - the low mileage is irrelevant in this context.

Provided it can be done - some cars can't (a friend's 08/2004 car couldn't)
