4X4 capability

Featured Replies

Oldstan asked a question of me - and so I am answering here - while feeling a bit sensitive to it being nothing to do with the OPs subject..and relating to tyres again!

Stan - mine are the TS830Ps. These are not the ones Conti say are expressly for 4x4 SUVs. They are the ones my local dealer, who I like to use, was able to source through his usual suppliers - otherwise I believe I could have got them myself from MyTyres. They were ****** expensive! But reviews at least indicate pretty good. Hope that helps

Now this thread is no longer about the subject, I'll chip in to show comradely tolerance.

I'd second that choice of the Contis on the evidence of the comparative reviews available, interestingly also the Contis had the least rolling resistance and produced the least cabin noise in the AutoExpress comparative test, beating the reference Conti summer tyre also.

Now I've been unlucky with mytryes.co.uk catching them on a day when they tried out British efficiency in sympathy. Three of the wheels/tyres arrived in 3 working days, the fourth disappeared (I know why, it's because two different tracking numbers were allocated to the same wheel and tyre) As the courier only had a record of three, no problem. They have allocated a new order number for the missing item, but keep saying tyres in the plural, so might even end up with spares :-)

So what are you being charged at each swap over of tyre?

I think its normally about £13 a tyre - just normal change over, valve, balance etc charge, but included as a deal for me on the first change over. The truth is I do a fair bit of business with them, and so I 'do OK' overall - that influences my choices, off course.
