Hi all after owning the fabia for 3 months or so i have now decided to buy another car (picked it up on the 14/10/2010) ,

i am Keeping the fabia because its doing the job i got it to do, best bhp for the money, well retaining MPG for my travels to work work, :giggle:

so far i have added my own touch to the fabia

cc grill

different badge

cupra splitter

stelth shelf

Thats about it really , decided after buying the new car i am not going to spend any more cash on the fabia maybe a new head unit

very nice mate. Nearly bought one myself but fell in love with the civic.

You'll love the 5 cyl roar! My dad used to have an S60 T5, sounded ace and went just as well.

Dammit you fool, spend that money on moddng the fabia not on an ST!!!!!

I do love the Focus ST gorgeous car, however the performance difference between that and a remapped fabia is like 0...so heres my question....do you have some big plans for the ST :p if so my ears just pricked up...do tell

However if the Focus was mapped..........

However if the Focus was mapped..........

yeh yeh...lol...the Focus would rip the vRS a new botty hole, the Focus has way more potential, jus wanna see if hes gonna use it :p

Think you will notice the differences between the 2 ?

One has power, one has torque.

Focus has plenty of torque as well as power

Think you will notice the differences between the 2 ?

One has power, one has torque.

who cares what the figures are if the performance is the same? also just to throw some figures about, one does more than twice the others mpg, the road tax is around half etc etc.

however, the focus looks a billion times nicer and against a standard fab theres no comparrison, just saying he has a lightly modded furby already, so whats the plans with the focus...when did this turn into a d1ck swinging comp?

Focus ST has more power and more torque than a mk1 Fabia vRS :D the only place the diesel wins is mpg, which is what he got it for

How about weight??? - perhaps my stats are incorrect, but it appears that the Focus ST could be the only car in the world that is heavier than a mk1 Fabia vRS :p

Also, it is rare to see a standard ST actually hit its claimed power & torque on a dyno, whereas the vRS is always appears to hit above book values. Possibly a little pedantic I know, but I feel that the 'real world' torque will be much more equal than the book values suggest.

Back to topic - lovely car and OP will love that 5 cylinder growl

crikey it's orange.. get them to throw in some sunglasses with the deal

don't doubt the ST is heavier but I've also no doubt that stock for stock the ST, if driven with intent would be more than the Fabia could even hope to answer.

I am fond of the ST and really like the sound they make, if only I wasn't doing 120 miles a day... :'(

I went from a Fabia vRS to an ST!

yes they do sound lovely and do look good, but thats about where it ends!

mines has 2 problems within a month, was in limp mode 3 of these weeks so i got shot! plus the pathetic MPG mines returned 18mpg combined! and its not even THAT quick compared to a 50mpg fabia vrs!

Plus its farpin' massive! and the turning circle is like that off a lambourghini gallado!

was the most hated car ive ever owned :(

well seen as i do now own both .. i will give my truthful thoughts.

a remapped fabia in a straight line isnt that far if anything at all from the standard Focus st , a standard fabia wouldn't stand a chance.

but the handling of the focus st is 100x+% better than the fabia(it actually goes round corners without spending £££££ on the set up !),

Dont know what was wrong with your st but they are well known for been a very very reliable car ? :wonder:

as this is my second car i dont give to flying poo poo's about the mpg ? thats what i have the fabia for.....yeah the turning circle is crap  (cant defend that )

then again from a remap alone in the focus your looking at 275bhp and 310lb ? dont think a remapped fabia would stand a chance ? unless you spend 6k on one ?

anyway my plans are to get to the 320bhp mark and i will be happy,

been looking at this kit

thats for the start any way , i will do a progress thread once i have started to do it but for now i have a wedding to pay for :giggle:

think 320bhp and 460nm will be ace with a LSD ! think the LSD is a must to use the power think i will start with an 2009 rs clutch and fly and a LSD?

dont know much about the ST but im sure i will learn as a go along,
