Mountain Bike in the rear of a Fabia Estate

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Quick question to anyone who has a Fabia Estate and maybe Mountain Bikes.

I've been asked if I want to go biking at the weekend down the East Lothian coast and I'm wondering if my mountain Bikes will fit in the rear of the car without taking the front wheel off. One bike is a 24 inch frame and the other is a 26 inch frame, basically I just want to lay the bikes flat in the boot with the seats down, my last car was 10cm shorter and both bikes fitted in no problem, but this one I'm not so sure.

Hope you can help.

Should be fine. I've had a cannondale badboy with 700 size wheels in the back of mine without having to take the wheels off. Just make sure you fold the cushions forward into the passenger footwells to enable the seat backs to lie flat. You'll obviously have to turn the handlebars on your bike perhaps to give you a little extra space.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for the quick answer mate, thats perfect.

Cheers

I get a mountain bike in the rear of my Fabia hatch but I cheat... I have a FOLDING mountain bike!! :giggle:

Yep, mine goes in ok at an angle. Mine is only a 23.5 inch frame which is fairly big for an off the shelf mountain bike. Yours is huge!!!...but it should still go in I would have thought.

must be wheel size for that.
