favorit glxie estate vag com port

Featured Replies

Hi everybody, my 1995 favorit glxie estate has decided not to start and a mate with access to vag com suggested that we might be able to find the problem that way. Unfortunately I have been unable to work out where to plug it in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no expert on Favorits, but it almost certainly won't have the standard 16-pin connector - the early SPi Felicias with the Bosch Mono-Motronic system used the older VW style 2x2 connector, and I think that setup was basically carried over from the Favorit. Again on the Felicia, the connector is up under the right-hand end of the dash - if you don't find anything there it's probably somewhere in the engine bay. It shouldn't be too hard to follow the ECU wiring until you find something.

Edit: looking into it a bit more, it seems it may well be a flat 5-pin connector which is apparently specific to the Favorit and some SEAT Cordobas.

Thank you for the speedy responses, i think i'll attempt to exhaust all other possiblities before looking for one of those.

Cheers, Jack.

The diagnostic connector is located next to the fuel vapour cannister by the ECU. It should have a blank plug plugged into the socket. Here's an old thread that's relevant http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/91874-favorit-mono-motronic-5-pin-diagnostic-connector-how-could-it-be-used/
