I have an 09 reg Octy vRS and recently with the cold weather i have noticed a weird thing happening with the climate control , if i turn it up to about 22-23 then once it gets quite hot and i turn it down to low it still blows hot air ??? , it wont cool down . But if i turn off the ignition then set it to low then start it up and drive it stays cool til i turn it up ???

Any ideas ?

I have tried all the auto/dual/AC settings but still blows warm when turned down to low ???

Mine did the same thing. I told the dealer I guessed it was the air con control unit (by the gear stick) but they went ahead, ripped the dash out, and replaced the blower motor units. Following day it was still either blowing red hot or cold. The unit kept turning on and off on its own, so I took it back and told them to replace the controller with one of the showroom cars, and hey-presto it's been fine since!!!!

Good luck and let us know how you get on. I'll be interested to see if it's the same thing, as some of the electrics are now bought from "un-reputable" far-east manufacturers. This goes for the rest of the VAG I'm afraid. :'(
