Fabia TDI niggles!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I recently took over my wife's Fabia VRS 04 plate - she made me do it! The little lady then bought a Fabia TDI on a 52 plate. My question is and forgive my naivety, on the TDI, should there be a ticking sound when the indicators are on? There isn't and the dealer says "some cars have it and some don't". Also, I wonder if there should be an alarm to tell us that the headlights are still on? Again the dealer insists it isn't a problem but obviously these are to little niggles that are annoying us. If anyone out there can help it would be much appreciated! I would like to know if these are fuse or relay issues and how to fix them.

(Adopts stance as per the Monty Python Argument Sketch) ....Er, sorry, this is the Octy 2 area....

Moved to Fabia I.

On mine (54 plate, pre-facelift), it makes a "clacking" sound when the indicators are on (like most cars), and , if you remove the key from the ignition and open the door with the lights on, it beeps at you. I would assume a 2002 Fabia would behave the same (but I could be wrong!)

Speaker on dash insert (instrument cluster) is goosed. Needs new instrument panel and the dealer should (and probably does know this.) Including re-coding of alarm and keys, you are looking at the thick end of £300.
