AA question...

Featured Replies

Who has had to call the AA and how can I ensure that I get a courtesy car?

Do you feel a coil pack attack coming on?

I don`t think the AA supply courtesy cars, even if you ask nicely :driving:

God i like that smiley!

and I'm in a bloody Fabia again :(

Just to clear up something... the AA will supply a car if the garage don't have one for you - but only for two days. I have no confidence of my other 3 coils now and will be pushing for them all to be replaced at once.

I'll let you know how I get on

I stand corrected  ...........and so should us all :x

i seem to remember studioman saying he didn't get a courtesy car because his rs was on the drive when he called the AA. i made sure mine was well away from home b4 calling them. i just need to make sure that the cat conv is ok 'cos the AA man said driving on 3 cylinders knackers it. he was really helpful though and waited at the garage until he was sure i was getting a car from the dealer.

all in all, i'm glad to have this cover... i just didn't ever want to have to use it :(

btw, i think this smilie is how all unchaged coil packs look at the moment :speaker: - ready to explode :(

Less than quarter mile from home - you're stuffed - so be further when you call AA.

Dealer won't give courtesy car unless in for service???

You need a car when it breaks down without notice - not when you scheduled it for a service.

Still Skoda did me a good deal - after I tracked the coil down when dealer and Skoda couldn't get one - they filled my car up with jungle juice for nowt!

Come to think of it I haven't had the cheque back yet...........javascript:emoticon(':ignore:')

Ignore me.

Allegedly, all four of my coil packs were changed yesterday

I have no real proof of that and hope someone can show me on Sunday if that is the case.

I did get the back yesterday so I'm quite happy. I noticed it doesn't sound quite so much like a diesel when it starts up now... may be a pointer to impending coil failure - who knows??

Mark

Take off the big plastic cover, look at the top of the coils. If it is black plastic, its the original, if its a sort of grey colour, its a replacement.

Willing to be proved wrong on this theory, but of all the ones I've seen, this has always been the case.
