Vrs Spoiler

Featured Replies

I was standing by my car the other day chatting to someone and noticed the drivers side of my spoiler has lifted from the car.......

i did have a random vibrating sound on the motorway the past couple of weeks and wasnt sure what it was but think i have found it......

the question is..... how is it fitted? how can i fix this propperly?

Get a dab of Bodyfiller bondo (Tiger seal) and stick it in there?

or

Remove it completely and redo the lot?

I'm sure I read these are only stuck on and not bolted on anyway. It mayb a safer option to take it all off and re-do it properly, however thats a pain in the botty.

Me personally, its apply it where it needs it with tiger seal.

how would i remove it??? :giggle:

I think the proper tools include 2xhands, 1 uncertain amount of time, 1x can of red devil (reccomended, but red bull would suffice) and 2 tablespoons of patience....be careful, dont wanna fetch any paint off...if you can get at the glue mayve use some fishing line to cut it?

It will certainly make getting it resprayed cheaper and easier.

Possibly even DIY?? I'd hate to think how painstaking it would

be to remove it without damaging either it or the car...

Would heat help? I'd perhaps try and prop it up a little

where it's flapping and blow a hairdryer into the gap

to see if it lifts away more with some applied warmth...

All depends on the glue they used I suppose.

Mind you I don't suppose it can be that strong if it's

just "come unstuck"??? Good luck Phil.

It depends mines firmer than firm, so it could be a slight crack in the glue, plus bad weather caused part of it to become useless...heat and fishing line :p

get the tiger seal out then sit something heavy on the spoiler, too much risk of paint cracking removing it

They're stuck on. I had mine removed and resprayed recently due to blistered laquer.
