What does the 70k service cover/include please? I'd like to know as I'm not in the vicinity of a VAG specialist and may have the service done at a trusted local place if the service is a pretty straightforward one.

Oil change, general inspection etc??

You can't generalise with Skoda servicing to say "what does a 70k service involve". Some things are distance related and some things are time related - so in theory you need an ordinary Annual Inspection Service plus possibly add-ons

The Skoda service schedule is "clearly" set out in the handbook. Here's a copy of the service sheet - to that you have to add brake fluid every two years; air filter every four years (if the car is driven less than 40,000 miles within 4 years); cambelt every four years (or 60k miles); and change spare battery in alarm siren every five years (though I don't that actually gets done very often):
