The more I read about the 3.6 v6 the more I wish I had ordered one. Hang the poor economy!!!

:giggle: they do seem mad, i alway turn a blind eye to running costs lol you gave in to the denzal then?

How much petrol do these burn on a medium heavy cruise on the motorway just out of interest? Can you make 35 mpg?

Not due to change for a couple of years but I may bring that forward.!!

On reading the posts about long lead times I may have to place my order soon..........

Ive seen one a little while ago.....its belongs to a customer that were doing work for....and upon fairly close inspection, it looks basically the same as an elegance spec superb estate...the only difference i found, was the exhaust pipes looked huge compared to the ones on my greenline....i did mention it on an earlier thread. Basically , it seems you can put your hand up the exhaust pipe....thats how wide it is :giggle:

Another thing to mention, is that if one is lucky enough to afford to buy one of these beasts, then one can afford to fill it up and have the pleasure of actually seeing the fuel gauge move towards empty !! sigh

:giggle: i bet the fuel gauge is connected to your foot via a big smile thou

can drop my octy to 12mpg if being a bafoon so who knows what these bad boys can do lol

There's no getting away from the fun a big engine can bring but nothings for nothing. I run a 4.6 supercharged MGZT and love even turning the key, but its always tempered with a need to extract value for money and that costs. So if you don't do big miles or can do the mundane one's in something else get one. Life is short and as Peter Griffen said" I could have had a V8". Having run a V6 they are a sweet sound and I whole heartedly recommend this before all that is left requires lithium or some other ****.

....Only if you've got hands like a one year old! Either that or their exhausts were non standard. The standard exhaust has 4 pipes and they're not very big. The R36 has 2 opposed pipes but they're much larger.

The strange thing about the V6 Superb is that it has much larger brake discs than the diesels and yet it's not mentioned in any of the brochures.

Hi Reddog

It would be hazardous not to have bigger brakes on the V6.

It's probably not advertised because it is a necessity. ;)

I believe this is also the case between other models such as the CR140 and CR170 diesels for example.

Thanks now back on the oval X-powers,shortened now as they came off a estate version ZTT. So what do you think so far as regards the 3.6 V6.

Steve.

Had my V6 for 5 months now - I'm still smiling :)

Economy on my 20 mile commute through town is around 22mpg, on a motorway run that goes up to 32mpg. Overall economy is 26mpg.

The brake discs are I believe from the Passat R36 - they're very strong and need a light touch around town.

The engine is as sweet as a nut - the best part of the car when combined with the 4 wheel drive and DSG box. Pulling out of junctions is like being in a catapult with no wheelspin even when wet.

The best view is the shrinking faces of drivers behind in the rear view mirror when you floor it and see them mouth "******* hell" as you speed away

Try another dealer! Got mine from James at Allams in Epsom. I got a big chunk off and a good price for my Landcruiser!

I bought a Combi V6 4X4 in Black Magic with panoramic sunroof and a few other extras for my wife. Fuel economy OK overall - average 26 mpg combined urban/highway cycle. Performance fantastic. Only regret is that I don't get to drive it very often!!!

A load of uf drove the 3.6 last year at the Allams meet. Overall I wasn't that impressed. It might be fast but it didn't feel it. It was also missing the steering wheel paddles so there wasn't as much fun to be had. We did thrash the nuts off it though!!

I hope the loving owner of the "carefully driven ex-demo" is not reading this now........

IIRC it was going to a magazine the following day. What's the point in a massive power tank if your not going to use it?

............ It might be fast but it didn't feel it. ......

I think that's the whole point.........it seems effortless! I've got the paddles on mine with the sports wheel. The thicker wheel, I think, feels more comfortable to hold.
