Fabia level 1 2009, convenience unit

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know for a Skoda Fabia Level 1, plated 59 2009, which has the following conveniance unit,

Would I need to actually replace the unit itself in order to get remote addition part to the central locking ?

i.e. does the following give any hint as to whether it has the RF part or not

I don't get the letter code on the part reference which might give some hint as to whether it has RF. Somehow, I doubt it but just wanted to check what is needed.

Frankly I would rather go for a flip blade the hard-way rather than the natty remote option from Skoda. Already done this once but that was on an already RF central locking enabled car when I'd lost the key! This is what vagcom reports:

Centr conv:-

Huge thanks in advance

Can I refine this query, would anyone with the skill and VCDS actually like to have a look for me ? money/beer or whatever suits you in compensation !

I guess this would make most sense to someone who already has a Fabia one (pre-face lift, 2009 ish) and the ability to confirm their details of their conveniance unit as the same as mine ?

and maybe flash download/upload the same as probably the dealers do when they enable it, I am guessing

Would be handy for future owners besides me, to create a guide for level one trim can be updated potentially without the crappy green seperate remote

It cannot be recoded in the CCU as it requires a seperate receiver that connects to it via a couple of wires for signals.....this might also be the same situation on newer cars at higher trim that already have the remote too

Think I am going to plum for buying the unit and take it from there, or consider the rclick unit

Thanks anyway

Thanks for sharing that Chris, very kind of you. Confirms it actually does use a different unit which is interesting and could be useful for others uprating to a proper key instead of the crap optional seperate remote.

I think I might sit on this for a while, not going to rush out to do anything either way.

Its not my main car anyway so getting over the wierdness of not having a remote but may come back to this later and this info is very useful, thanks
