Got the vRS some new shoes

Featured Replies

After the close call with killing the engine with oil starvation, I thought I would treat the car too some bits. So picked some wheels up on Thursday night, with 25mm adapters for the front, and 30mm for the rear, also converting it fitment from 5x100 too 5x112. Also got some coilovers coming through the week so arch gap will be sorted asap.

Ignore the grill too, painted it, left the car in the garden while it was broke, the dog jumped up on the car and scratched it all, then water has got behind and its peeled off, getting sorted in the morning.

It looks very nice indeed Rennie, got to say they do work well with silver and look right for the car. B)

BTW glad you didnt kill the engine, i saw the thread and feared the worse.

The wheels are et60 18x8.5 fitted with 30mm adaptors front and rear fitted with 215/35/18. Thinking of selling or trading for standards again as I'm not a real fan of them

Coilovers on.

I'm not so sure.

TBH mate I prefer the standard wheels. The 30mm adaptors cant be helping your wheel bearings or handling either?

Is that pic taken @ Powerworks Lane?

I don't really drive it all that hard, and now that it's down fully on the coilovers its not been driven hard either, I'm in 2 minds as what too do with them, I've got some 17" AMG merc wheels there too so may try them on see what it looks like.

Yeah picture is taken at Powderworks Lane, It's where I had my unit, my mates still in there and my other mate has the unit next door so always there.

Ahhh. I know Chris from there who breaks the Vauxhalls as well as Tom who works at the garage around the corner...!

Yeah I'm good mate's with Chris, he's in the unit next too my old one where my mate is now, and speak to Tom a fair bit while there, he's just got one of the units round the back too for him too mess about in.

Small world. Ive probably met you but cant remember.

Most probably, I've had that many cars nobody can keep up with me haha. and gauging from spotting you by bootle golf course, you musn't be that far from me as I'm from by the KFC in Litherland, but spend the most of my time at my girlfriends in Allerton. You'll probably know my mate Jeff too if your good mates with Chris, he's known him alot longer than me.

Got the wheels, was told by my good mate I was buying them off that they are 5x110 so would fit with wobble bolts onto adaptors, been to Preston this afternoon too pick up others as the wrong ones where sent out. Get home to get the wheels on, and they won't go near. So annoyed it's untrue, my wheels have sold, so now the car is sat on axle stands and I'm totally skint to get any other wheels now.

Oh the joys of messing with cars.

Sounds like your mate thought yours were 5 x 112pcd not 5 x 100pcd.

5 x 110 is vauxhall i think.

Surprised they don't fit with wobble bolts, 5x110 is Vauxhall PCD, Had a Vectra before my Octy and had 5x112 PCD Alloys on that with wobble bolts fitted a treat. Are you sure you got the right PCD Adapters?

I also had a vectra before hand with 5x112 on, thinking Venom might have given me wrong adaptors again.
