Nope the one down at ones right knee, got it open with careful application of a big screwdriver.

I suspect the dealer may have had it removed to remove the trim when he was fitting the loom for the towbar.

He mentioned about the sod of a job it was and working somewhere in the vicinity of the area below the steering wheel?

Cheers

Oh I see - you mean the bonnet release handle in the cabin. I can see why it may have been removed. Tell them to put it back!

I think its designed to fall off in an accident. The lever is a interference fit onto the boss. Are you sure it isn't in the footwell somewhere?

Sniff!

Our new car has not yet become so untidy as to be likely conceal this lever in the usual footwell debris.

Given time however...........................................

But

PS

I did check incl running my fingers into the darker corners.

Cheers

I found it, below the drivers seat, where I had frisked earlier??

But then on Sunday night I braked hard coming into a roundabout.

Which must have dislodged it

Why would this falling off in an accident be a good thing?

Well for one I would rather have the lever "fall off" than become embedded in my lower leg, if this is indeed a designed in feature.

I'm (thankfully) not involved in the business of designing things like that but I'd have thought it would be better to have something that is fixed in place rather than an object that can become another projectile and leaves behind something smaller, harder and sharper.

There's probably masses of science, engineering and manufacturing goes into it, but as a layman it seems that something like a bonnet lever, which normally sits in a safe little recess, should probably be designed to stay there when things go bad.

Well in the next generation model it will probably be a touch screen menu function driven thinngy with a solinod release catch at the bonnet end, just to ensure one cannot open the bonnet if the battery is flat

within an hour of me buying my VRS, my handle came off in my hand when i was trying to open the bonet to look at the engine. It has been removed to help fit wiring for parking sensors and dont think it was put back properly. I fixed it in two mins though.
