ESP stays permanently OFF

Featured Replies

Hi all, my "ESP OFF" switch will not reselect. It stays lit with the warning symbol on the dash permanently on also. No matter how many times I press it, it will not come back on. Has anyone got any suggestions? I DO NOT want to go to Skoda Aberdeen as they are really poor (to be as polite as I can!!) Any help or advice really appreciated. Mick

Sounds like you have the infamous Teves MK60 failure which is proving to be an issue across the whole VAG range cars with ESP.

The only way to get it sorted is sadly a visit to a dealer since the ABS/ESP gubbins need to be replaced.

Thanks for the reply, would you know if this is likely lead to a large repair bill?

If you are out of warranty and this is the problem, then yes it is a very large repair bill. Prices in the region of £1500 have been quoted on other forums.

It may not be this problem, but the symptoms sound like it is.

In a word, yes.
