Hey Guys

just saying hello and introducing myself

My name is Matt and Im taking collection of my New VRS (Candy White 170CR) on Friday - been after one as a company car for a while so it will be nice to finally get it delivered

Im pretty active over on www.talkaudio.co.uk and am into the sound off competition scene (my competition vehicle can be found here www.projectbigblack.co.uk)

I am planning on upgrading the HU and speakers on Saturday so eyes peeled for a little install thread in the ICE section

Cheers dude

I was after the MK1 when I joined the firm but kept getting the hand me down cars - finally 3 years later I have been able to order my own

and the project car is a beast I agree check out www.youtube.com/thejoose

Nice choice and welcome along!

Not so sure how you'd stand if they find out about the mods to the audio, but if it's descrete enough to be missed via a quick inspection, go for it!!!

I have had big systems in all of my previous company cars - the boss said as long as there is no damage to the car I can do what I like

the power cables can be passed through the bulkhead easily enough (I have done similar on an A3 Sportback and a Leon FR) the amplifier and subwoofers in the boot can be attached to a dummy floor and ratchet strapped down using the luggage points

the only permanent change is drilling out the front speaker rivets to mount new speakers - I can then just attach them back in with self tappers in 3 years time

Very good ,most companies dont have VRS as an option, welcome and enjoy

I had an allowance - the VRS was a little over that allowance but the order of the car coincided with my boss asking me to take on some extra responsibility ;)

Nice one mate.

Iv also managed to get a vrs as a company car, should be getting it on Wednesday.

It will be such a joy doing 35k per year in a fun car on little welsh roads.

Let me know what speakers you end up fitting. I'd like to fit Focul or something but want to fit the standard mounts and grills..........

I reckon best thing is to relocate the tweeters to the dash or A-pillars

Im using SPL Dynamic coxaials and leaving the tweeters where they are running the tweeters in the doors and the coxials as well - depending on how east it is to get to the outerskin i will sound deaden

drill the rivits and pop in mk5 golf adaptors and they should mount right in
