Gear lever creaking

Featured Replies

After 6000 miles of a perfectly silent gear lever I now get a regular little squeak/creak when getting hold of lever and moving it forwards or backwards. Additionally if the lever is gently eased up vertically it moves up about 2 mm and then back 2mm if pushed down. Gear selection is perfect otherwise.

If this normal behaviour then I am happy but I would prefer the earlier silence on changing gear :)

Seems like the sort of effect which would be produced by a broken circlip but without a Haynes I don't even know if there is one in this location.:(

Anybody else have experience of this?

Cheers John

It's still under warranty, so why bother to try and repair it yourself?

Take it back to the dealer.
