Drive The Deal

Featured Replies

Can anyone who has purchased - or is purchasing - their Skoda Yeti via this company please tell me what Road Fund Licence was offered in the deal.........i.e. 6 or 12 months, or different [if applicable]. Asking because I have a slight difference between DtD and the dealer - nothing major, BUT needs clarifying!

ALSO once the vehicle is ordered how do I go about finding out when the likely build date / delivery date is due? Is there some way of tracking or do I need to contact the likes of Skoda UK? Complete novice at this, but note from other threads that people seem to have these dates available to them - Any help welcomed!

Im pretty sure DTD offer 12 months RFL (which is the same as Broadspeed - who I eventually ordered with as they worked out a bit cheaper)

Hi

When you filled in the original form with DtD you had to tick a box for 6 months or 12. It is never mentioned after that.

As to finding out dates: after your dealer has contacted you they will give you an order number. This you use to phone either your dealer or Skoda UK for updates. NOTHING is done through DtD after the dealer contacted you.

My tax was 6 months which I did not "upgrade" to a 12 months to avoid difficulty in re-taxing on line when insurance tax and MoT all come up at the same time

Very clever Geordiebroon. My A2 was always like that since (by accident) I had a month of insurance left on my previous car that they converted to the A2 before I got a full year's insurance. And then I "forgot" by a few months to MOT it and that also was moved on by a month. So come Oct every year the MOT and insurance are always in place to be renewed a few weeks later by getting my £35 a year road tax. But this time the A2's insurance runs out the 18th of next month and thus BEFORE my Yeti gets delivered. I will resync things later with a six months somewhere.

I was quoted 14/16 weeks delivery ,(also ticked the 12 months tax box). I phoned the dealer today having resisted for almost 3 months. It's..............BUILT! Am i very pleasantly surprised? Yes :) .Hoping to collect end of Nov after shipping, PDI,etc. I never enquired about an order Number though.

Thanks for all the responses.......... appreciated.

Just trying to clarify because after discussing everything with DtD I received a letter from them specifying all the vehicle requirements and quite clearly showing 12 months RFL.

However I then received a order document to sign from the Skoda Dealer stating only 6 months RFL. I queried it, and sent the dealer a copy of the letter from DtD.

Today I received an e-mail from the Dealer stating that DtD had made a typing error and I could query it with them if I wanted!

As I said in orignal post it is not a Major Issue but do feel I am now being offered slightly less than what was originally agreed to for the quoted price!

I've rechecked the copy of the order I sent to DtD but cannot see the RFL mentioned. Is it worth the hassle of querying with DtD, or does anyone think I am being to fussy?

Unless you selected the option for 12months RFL, DtD is automatically set at 6 months RFL.

If you think the DtD price included 12months RFL then you should query it. Might be worth specing the car again on DtD and see if there's any difference in price between what you were quoted and what it says now (assuming there's been no change in prices).

The DtD dealer "Marlborough Skoda" made a "typo" in my order and forgot to change the alloys on my superb for the no cost extra Luna alloys. When I collected the car they were adamant it was DtD issue and I should take it up with them. Until I mentioned that I would actually take it up with Skoda UK if they did not compensate me on the spot.. sure enough they gave me a cheque for £100. Other than that the DtD process was easy and I would do it again...

Just another quick thank you to everyone who offered their advice.....really appreciated.

The good news is I contacted DtD and told them of the problem.

They have come back immediately with an apology, stating the problem was their fault as they had typed the letter incorrectly, and as a gesture of goodwill they have instructed the Skoda dealer to put a full 12 months licence on the vehicle.

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A QUICK RESPONSE AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Brilliant... More companies should realise the power of quick and decent customer service - and how many of their customers blog and/or comment on them on the Internet in real time. Everyone on here have only had good things to say about DtD and I'm sure any new person coming to this forum will look at (them) favourably. Much better than just seeing negative things.
